1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (3GB RAM):

Xiaomi has launched the new Redmi Note 4 which is the successor to its massively popular Redmi Note 3 which is the no. 1 best selling online smartphone in India so, the Redmi Note 4 has very big shoes to fill in, let’s see what all it has got. Starting with the design, it is built on a similar design language like the Redmi Note 3 with few differences like a 2.5D curved glass on front and a better back. The excellent build quality is one of the best at its price, it also feels nice and premium in hands… Expand Review

The Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5 inches Full HD screen with good display quality. Sadly, it misses out on Gorilla Glass screen protection. It runs on the 2.0 GHz Octa Core Snapdragon 625 Processor and comes in 2/3/4 GB RAM variants with Adreno 506 GPU. It obviously doesn’t deliver performance like the Snapdragon 650 on the Redmi Note 3 but it is still pretty much capable of handling everything smoothly, it also handles games well without much heating. On the camera front, it packs a 13 MP rear camera which is a better shooter than the 16 MP rear camera of the Redmi Note 3, it has good picture quality with good colors and details. The 5 MP front camera is also good, it comes with various beautification modes which enhance the selfies. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8.0 running on top, the company has promised the Nougat update in the coming few weeks. The MIUI 8.0 is a beautiful ROM with lots of customisations, it also offers lots of useful features like Dual Apps (two accounts of apps like Whatsapp, Facebook, etc.), Second Space (creates a new partition in the phone which is protected with password/fingerprint and can be used to install completely different sets of apps and also has a separate gallery, basically first space and second space behave like two different phones), although many manufacturers provide features like second space but in Xiaomi’s MIUI it is perfectly executed, it’s fast and easy to access, the MIUI also offers quick ball. In our opinion, among all the ROMs from different Android manufacturers the MIUI is the most feature rich and by far the best ROM out there, it adds a lot of value to the phone. The phone packs a good fingerprint scanner and also includes Infrared Blaster which allows you to control your TV, AC, music system and many other electronic appliances, it is a very good feature and comes handy. It is a dual sim phone with 4G and VoLTE support. It packs 32 GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 128 GB via a hybrid slot. Coming to another good thing about the phone, it is backed by a 4100 mAh battery which delivers excellent battery backup. Disappointingly, the Redmi Note 4 misses out on fast charging which few other competitors offer at this price, it is not a deal breaker but it would have made things sweeter.

Alternatives: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is still available and can still be a good choice.

Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is a great budget smartphone. It has almost perfect balance of everything, be it design, performance, camera, software or battery life it delivers a very satisfactory experience. So, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (3GB RAM) with its great user experience is the best phone under 10000 Rs. in India.

2. LeEco Le 1s Eco:

LeEco has upgraded its popular smartphone LeEco Le 1s with the newer ‘Made in India’ LeEco Le 1s Eco which, brings in only few changes like it now runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, supports 10 Indian regional languages and includes entertainment packages from Eros Now, YuppTV and Hungama, worth Rs. 4900 free for one year, rest everything remains the same. very good for a 10-11k phone. It has a 5.5 inches Full HD screen with 403 ppi pixel density, the display quality is very good. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Le 1s Eco runs on the powerful 2.2 GHz Mediatek Helio X10 Turbo 6795T Octa Core Processor coupled with 3 GB RAM and delivers consistently good performance. It has got the PowerVR G6200 GPU which performs very well with small to medium games but with heavy games it struggles a little, although it isn’t bad. The phone has got a 13 MP rear camera with F2.0 aperture which can click very detailed pictures and is a good overall performer. On the front, it has a 5 MP shooter which also comes with F2.0 aperture and 85 degrees wide-angle lens, it also produces good selfies. The Le 1s Eco brings 3 important features which are hardly seen in a 10,000 Rs. phone, the fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port for fast charging and the Infrared (IR) Blaster to let you control devices like music systems, T.V., A.C., etc. from your phone itself. It is a dual sim phone and supports 4G on both the sim. It has got 32 GB internal memory out of which around 25 GB is free for the user but, the phone doesn’t have the microSD slot. It has a Li-Po 3000 mAh battery. The company also promises to have already started service centres in many cities.

Overall, the LeEco Le 1s Eco comes with a great design and is equally powerful and feature packed smartphone which makes a great value for money deal at this price, also, the company is also focused towards improving the user experience of its customers in the Indian market. It can be a very good choice at this price, specially, with the free LeEco entertainment package membership, it becomes a great mobile under 10000 Rs.

3. Lenovo K4 Note:

Lenovo is on fire in India, it is launching back to back hit and great value for money phones in the budget segment. The Lenovo K4 Note is the successor of the massively popular Lenovo K3 Note. Starting with the design, it has a metallic frame and metallic edges but the back panel is plastic, it packs a good looking design, it has got rounded corners, curved back panel and there is chrome finish on all the edges and also on a small unit on the back containing the camera and fingerprint scanner… Expand Review

It features a 5.5 inches Full HD display with good colour reproduction and viewing angles, it is a very good display overall. The Lenovo K4 Note is powered by the 1.3 GHz 64-bit Octa Core Mediatek MT6753 Processor coupled with 3 GB RAM and Mali T720-MP3 GPU, it delivers decent performance and handles gaming well but can lag with high-end games. It comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with Lenovo’s new Vibe UI 3.0 running on top. In the version 3.0, Lenovo has quite improved its Vibe UI, it now comes with more features and also includes the option to arrange your icons in an App drawer like Stock Android. The phone has a 13 MP rear camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) and Dual-LED flash and takes good pictures. The 5 MP front camera is also good. Another important feature is the fingerprint scanner which can be used to quickly unlock the phone even when the screen is turned off, it can also be used to take pictures. It also comes with two front facing Dolby Atmos speakers (placed above & below the screen) which have very good and rich sound quality, you will just love it if you watch videos more often. The K4 Note is a Dual Sim phone, it also includes NFC for additional connectivity. It has 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 128 GB with the help of a microSD card. It is backed by a non-removable Li-Po 3300 mAh battery which gives a good battery backup and lasts for a day.

Alternatives: If you love bigger smartphones, umm actually very big smartphones, you can go with the 6.4 inches Lenovo Phab 2, which is a very good phone for its intended user type.

Overall, the Lenovo K4 Note is a great complete package. It gives decent performance and a great multimedia experience, whether it is its dual front facing speakers or the VR mode, they are very good at a very good price point. It is another very good phone under 10000 Rs. and can be a great buying choice.

day-to-day usage and some gaming also, there are no noticeable lags in normal operations, however it is not intended towards heavy gaming. The processor comes coupled with 3/4 GB RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. It runs on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Lenovo’s new Pure UI running on top. The Pure UI is a light version of the Vibe UI and Lenovo has tried to make it a more stock Android like experience but still, it is far from stock and there are lots of customisation options available. Lenovo has also added ‘Dual Apps’ support in the Pure UI which lets you run two instances of the same apps like Facebook, Whatsapp, etc. in one phone. The phone also supports Lenovo’s TheatreMax mode and the Full HD screen gives good experience with the VR Headset. The Lenovo K6 Power packs a 13 MP rear camera with PDAF and clicks good photos in good lighting conditions, the photos in low lights can turn out bit grainy at times. The 8 MP front camera is a good selfie shooter. The camera app includes lots of modes and its PRO mode is also very effective. The phone comes with Dolby Atmos support which improves the audio quality via speakers and headphones, it also packs dual rear speakers which have sufficient loud and rich audio. The fingerprint scanner situated on the back is fast. It is a dual SIM phone with 4G VoLTE support. It packs 32 GB onboard storage which is expandable upto 128 GB via microSD card with hybrid slot. At last, let’s come to the greatest thing about the phone – the non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery which provides very good battery backup.

Overall, the Lenovo K6 Power is great all-rounder. It packs a good design, good cameras, latest and stable UI, good multimedia experience, decent performance, all the required features and a huge battery with a compact form factor.  So, if you are looking for a smaller 5-inches phone, then the Lenovo K6 Power is the best phone under 10000 Rs. currently.

5. Moto G4:

One of the most awaited phones of the year – the new 2016 Moto G, which is called as the Moto G4 is now launched. Those familiar with the Moto G phones know how popular these phones have been and those who are not aware of all this should know that the Moto G4 is the 4th edition in the Moto G series and all the previous 3 generation phones have been extremely successful in India. Back in 2014, the Moto G was first launched in India, since then it has been the most selling phone in Indian e-commerce, it helped in spreading e-commerce in India by starting the ‘online exclusive’ and ‘flash sales’ trend. So, it has a great legacy to carry, now… Expand Review

let’s talk about the phone. Starting with the design, the Moto G4 comes with a polycarbonate body and everything is plastic here, the back has a leather like finish which feels good and the build quality is excellent. I won’t say the phone looks good, specially when you have many of the full metal unibody phones at the same or lower price but, it has good grip and feels comfortable to hold in hands. It sports a big 5.5 inches Full HD screen with very good display quality although, the screen is a fingerprint magnet. If we talk about the performance, it runs on the 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 617 Octa-core processor coupled with 2 GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU, it can handle heavy usage and gaming but it heats up a little and also there are much better phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 which deliver great performance, so the Moto G4 is not recommended for heavy gamers. When it comes to the camera department, the Moto G4 comes with a 13 MP rear camera with ƒ/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash and the Professional Mode, the camera quality is good but not the very best, its big brother, the Moto G5 Plus has a much better camera. The 5 MP front camera is good. As always the case for Moto phones, the Moto G4 runs on almost Stock Android UI and has got the update for the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. Motorola has added few helpful features like the Moto Display to the UI. And the phone will always get the latest Android updates for years. The Moto G4 lacks a fingerprint scanner. It is a dual sim phone with 4G and VoLTE support. It comes in 16 GB and 32 GB storage options and is expandable upto 128 GB with a dedicated microSD slot. The phone is backed by a Non-removable 3000 mAh Li-Ion battery which gives decent battery life, it can last for a day with medium to heavy usage. It supports fast charging via Moto’s Turbo charger, which is very good.

Alternatives: It will be great if you can extend your budget a little and go with the Moto G4 Plus.

Overall, when you talk about a Moto G phone, it is always about the user experience and the stability between hardware and software, and the Moto G4 again achieves that, it runs smoothly. So, with latest software and decent all round capabilities the Moto G4 can be a good choice around Rs. 10,0000. However, heavy gamers should go for more powerful phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

I have Lenovo K4 note, considering Dolby Atmos which earphone will be best under ₹1000. I prefer soft base with clear sound quality.
I have very bad experience with Skullcandy and Sennheiser’s service centre. Now I am planning to buy JBL t150a. Will it be good option?
