Facebook adds new Notifications Tab for iOS & Android; includes Google Now like cards

Facebook is currently developing a lot of features in order to enhance the experience encountered by a person while using the social networking site on their mobiles. After the launch of Instant Articles feature, the company has now revamped the notifications tab by adding some new features to it, making the tab more user centric.

With the upgrade, the social networking site’s user can see many important information all in a single place. Now the notifications tab will include the birthdays and life events of your friends, match scores and TV reminders based on the Pages liked along with the upcoming events that you will be joining.

The notifications tab has also been tailored in order to showcase the happenings around the city where you live in, latest weather updates, nearby theaters with the movie playing there, list of locations to eat with Facebook page links and reviews.

The newly launched tab is at par with Google Now and contains the identical card style look in which the notifications will be present. But unlike Google Now the users have more control here. The cards can be easily modified by tapping the arrow present on the right side of each card, also the ‘Add more cards’ option allows you to add the needed and required info easily.

The new and more personalized notifications tab is being rolled out for the users present in the United States, accessible on their iOS and Android devices. As for international availability, there is no word on the release date by Facebook, that may help the users to get on their toes and eagerly wait for the feature.
