Google Home voice activated home assistant announced at Google I/O

Google has announced its own voice activated home assistant device, known as Google Home at its ongoing event Google I/O. The competitor to Amazon Echo will be launched later this year.

Google Home is a small Wi-Fi speaker device that’s powered by Google Assistant, which will let you enjoy music, manage everyday tasks and ask Google questions via voice commands. It can can also sync with Chromecast devices, so that it can control TVs as well as other connected devices including speakers and smart appliances. Users can also book a cab, send flowers, ask weather, control gadgets, house temperature, and ask about day-to-day events and queries using Google Home.

Google says that users will be able to customize the base, both when it comes to color and finish. The company also says that it will be offered in metal and fabric bases.
