HTC Desire 820 will be priced at 26,000 Rs, to hit the stores in November

by Rahul DubeyOctober 13, 2014

Back last month, on 4th September HTC unveiled the new Desire 820 at the IFA in Berlin and after few days, on 23rd September HTC launched the phone in India. But there are no official words on the pricing and availability of the HTC Desire 820 in India.

We have seen a lot of interest for the phone and many of you asked us for its pricing and availability details. So, we tried to contact HTC India directly asking them to share the details. And we got a quick response from them stating that the price of the phone will be approximately 26,000 Rs. and it will be available in the stores in November. Below is their exact response:

We like to inform you that HTC Desire 820 will be launched in the month of November in Indian market at cost of approximate Rs 26,000/-

-HTC India

Though they haven’t clearly mentioned the exact launch date, we expect the phone to be available in the first or second week of November.

The HTC Desire 820 is the upgraded version of the successful Desire 816. It is powered by a very powerful 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC which has integrated 4G LTE. That’s the main highlight of the phone.

Also, the design of the phone is really very good, it looks very beautiful. It is similar to the Desire 816 but HTC has added a colored strip to the bezel and also a colorful circular border to the camera. This enhances the design of the phone to a great extent.

The other features included in the HTC Desire 820 is the 5.5 inches 720 x 1280 pixels screen, 2 GB RAM, Adreno 405 GPU, 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 128 GB. It has a 13 MP primary camera which can capture photos with  4160 x 3120 pixels, it has autofocus and LED flash. For Selfie lovers, it has a great 8 MP Front camera which is able to capture photos at 1080p. It runs on the latest Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat). It has GPS with GLONASS and sensors like Accelerometer, proximity & compass sensors. Also, it has a Non-removable Li-Po 2600 mAh battery.

Overall, it looks a very promising phone which can strengthen HTC’s hold in this price segment. The phone offers premium design and features at a very reasonable price, we wish it just had the Full HD screen as it would have improved the large 5.5 inch display significantly. But still, its offering pretty much and is a great device to look forward for.

Hi Rahul: I am looking with appropriate screen size, light weight and rugged built smart phone for easy to carry in our shirt/trouser pockets and operate with single hand. My budget is around 25K.
My major requirements are: Internet usage with various apps like, e-mails, net-banking, social apps, tickets booking, Photos etc.., Watching movies/videos is not of much importance.

Please suggest a good smart phone with these requirements.
