Microsoft has launched a new version of Xbox, dubbed as Xbox One S at its E3 press conference in Los Angeles, USA. The slimmer but more powerful Xbox will be available from August, and the price starts at $299 (approx. Rs. 20,000).

The Microsoft Xbox One S now supports 4K video streaming, and the company has partnered with content from partners like Netflix and Amazon Video. It now has three USB ports and the pairing button to the front. It comes with a built-in power supply and can be placed horizontally or vertically with an optional stand. It is now 40% smaller than the original Xbox one.

Talking about the controller, Microsoft says that it has improved the Xbox Wireless signal performance to offer a more reliable wireless connection to the console and up to twice the wireless range when used with Xbox One S. It now features a textured grip for better comfort and a new thumbstick design to help maintain accuracy and smooth rotation over the life of the controller.

The Xbox One S will be available in 500GB, 1TB and special launch edition 2TB options at $299 (approx. Rs. 20,000), $349 (approx. Rs. 23,500) and $399 (approx. Rs. 26,800) respectively. The company is also said to launch Xbox One Project Scorpio gaming console around Christmas.
