Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could be price around €1,000, to launch in the second half of September: Report

Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy Note 8 is most probably on the production line and the continuous leaks about the smartphone, from a while, are creating even more excitement. There is yet another leak about the smartphone and this time it is about the possible price along with its launch time.

As per a report, on VentureBeat, citing an individual aware of company’s plan, the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 from Samsung will retail at a price of €999 (Rs. 72,000 approx). If this comes out to be true then the Galaxy Note 8 will apparently be the most expensive smartphone from the company yet.

The main reason for the smartphone’s heavy price tag is said to be the inclusion an expansive screen which differentiates it from the Galaxy S8 line up. It also aims to achieve the differentiation with selectively beefed-up components and a dual rear camera setup, along with the line’s signature feature, the S Pen stylus.

Apart from the pricing detail, the report also mentions that the smartphone will be unveiled in the second half of September. This falls in line with some previous rumours but certainly contradicts a recent report which claimed that the Galaxy Note 8 will be launching on 26 August in New York.

Samsung was previously rumoured to launch the Galaxy Note 8 at IFA 2017 in Berlin, an annual tradeshow which takes place in September. However, the company then seemed to have changed its plan to avoid a possible clash with Apple who also launches its smartphone in September, which this year could be the iPhone 7s/ 7s Plus or the iPhone 8. Now considering the recent leak, it will be interesting to see if the flagships from both the companies launch in the same time frame.

Talking about the leaked specifications, Galaxy Note 8 will sport a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, and come with dual rear camera, Bixby, as well as a slightly upgraded S-pen. The device could be powered by a Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos SoC along with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The smartphone is said to hold a rear mounted fingerprint scanner as well.

The previous leaks also suggest that the dual camera setup will consist of a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens supporting dual photodiode and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. The report also states that it will support 3X optical zoom, dual 6P lenses and dual OIS as well.
