ZTE Nubia Z17 with Snapdragon 835, 8 GB RAM and Dual-rear camera launched
ZTE on Thursday, 1st June launched its flagship Nubia Z17 smartphone in China. The smartphone comes with some high-end specifications and is looking quite impressive in initial gaze. ZTE Nubia Z17 highlights the dual rear camera setup along with the inclusion of Snapdragon 835 SoC. The smartphone will be available in Aurora Blue, Black Gold, Obsidian Black, Solar Gold, and Flame Red color options.
The Nubia Z17 sports a 5.5-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) display along with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor which is one of the underlining spec as all the latest premium flagship devices from Samsung, Xiaomi, Sony and HTC hold the same. Nubia Z17 is launched in three different variants depending upon the RAM and internal storage. The variants include one with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage, another with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage, and finally the top variant with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, with Nubia UI 5.0 on top.
Coming towards the imaging department, it is again one of the highlights of the smartphone. The Nubia Z17 holds a dual rear camera setup with 23 MP and 12 MP sensor each, coupling Dual Pixel focus, f/1.8 aperture and 6P lens with Sapphire glass protection. The rear camera also offers the 2X optical zoom and 10X dynamic zoom. Upfront there is a 16 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide angle lens.
The smartphone boasts a uni-metal sleek body design with almost no bezels on the side. There is a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel with power button and volume rockers on the right edge. Nubia Z17 packs a decent 3,200 mAh battery with latest Quick Charge 4+ technology which is rated to charge the device from 0% to 50% in just 25 minutes. Apart from this, there is also the NeoPower 3.0 optimisations with the help of which device is said to give two days of mixed usage.
The smartphone comes with IP67 certification which makes it water and dust resistant. The device holds an IR Blaster to control IR based devices from the smartphone itself and also includes NFC along with Dolby Atmos certified speaker to give Hi-Fi audio output. The connectivity options of the smartphone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS and USB Type-C port. The smartphone measures 152.6 x 72.4 x 7.6 mm and weighs 173 grams.
Taking about the price, as mentioned earlier the smartphone comes in three different variants, where the 6 GB RAM variant and 64 GB storage variant comes at price of CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 26,400). After that the 6 GB RAM /128 GB storage variant is priced at CNY 3,399 (roughly Rs. 32,100), and finally the top variant with 8 GB RAM/ 128GB storage is priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 37,700).
For time being, the smartphone is only available in China and its arrival in India or other markets around the world is still unknown.
