5 Best Android Phones under 10000 Rs (June 2014)

by Rahul DubeyJune 1, 2014

Buying a new phone is such a challenging task these days. As there are number of good phones in this range which make everybody confused and helpless. Don’t worry now, I am here to help you out. I have written the latest list of 5 Best Android Phones under 10000 Rs. for the month of June. Read it and compare the phones and choose the best one for you.

Last month hundreds of readers of this blog had commented and asked which phone they should choose among the crowded market. Which has made me better understand the requirements and view point of the buyers. So I am trying to make this list even easier for you by giving you appropriate information. You are always welcome to ask your queries.

With a recent launch, this list has found its game changer and became an obvious choice of the 1st position. Apart from which, writing this list was the hardest task as, I had to choose only 5 best phones among 25 phones which were equally good and could potentially make it to the top fives. So, I have spend lots of hours in research and came up with 5 best phones considering their specifications, performance, user experience and the value for money.

So here is the list of 5 Best Android Phones under 10000 Rs.:

#Buying Tip:

There are some amazing offers and discounts available in many categories on Flipkart, the no. 1 shopping site in India. Buying your Smartphones, Laptops and other gadgets online can be a wise decision as buying online can definitely save you some money. And no doubt Flipkart is best for Indian buyers.

1. Motorola Moto E:

Again a magical phone from Motorola. The Moto E has got everything you can expect at this price range, it even has additional features you can’t imagine at just Rs. 7,000. This is the best phone under 10,000 Rs. and yet it is cheaper by about 3,000 Rs. than other phones in this list. The Moto E runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 Kitkat and most important is that, Motorola has promised at least one update of the Android when a new version is released. It has a Dual Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 A7 processor clocked at at 1.2 GHz and is supported by 1 GB of RAM, the combination of which can handle most everyday needs, multitasking and gaming. The phone has a very good design which is similar to the Moto G. It has a 1980 mAh Li-Ion battery which can last all day. Its camera is not so great but come on…., you are not buying a phone at 7,000 Rs to click high resolution images. Additionally it has water resistance and smudge coating with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Sometimes, I wonder how Motorola manages to put so many things at such a low price. Overall, it is a perfect all round phone one should buy at this price range.

2. Micromax Canvas 2 A120 Colours:

This phone is launched recently by Micromax and considering the price point at which it is offered, it becomes a very good buy. If you want high performance and bigger camera, the Micromax Canvas 2 A120 Colours is the best choice under 10,000 Rs. It features an HD resolution display. It has got the best specs in this list. It is offered in many colours and funky back panels. Tnd the speed at which Micromax is increasing the quality of the after sales service, buying Micromax phones are no more risky!

3. Sony Xperia M:

Xperia M is a good phone from Sony which was priced much higher earlier at around 14,000 Rs. At that price it was a bad buy but, it seems Sony has realized the mistake and its price has been significantly reduced at around 10,500 Rs. Its processor is not that big but with 1 GB of RAM at this price, it becomes a good choice with a good overall performance. Another speciality of this phone is as usual the amazing design and build quality of the phones. Sony Xperia M looks super sexy and it has stylish buttons and overall it feels pretty good in hands!

4. Nokia XL:

Many people were waiting eagerly for the release of the Nokia XL after its announcement and it was finally released in May. First of all, the phone looks absolutely beautiful with its solid design. Nokia XL is among the 3 devices which Nokia launched earlier this year running on Google’s Android OS. Although it runs on Android, you will find its User Interface much similar to the Windows Phone OS as, the Nokia XL runs on the forked version of Android, in which Nokia has redesigned the UI. The Nokia XL too doesn’t have the Google’s services like the Play Store but it has its own App Store which contains most popular Android Apps. Also, you can sideload other Android apps. Coming to its hardware, it has 1 GHz Dual Core processor with 768 MB RAM. With less powerful hardware also, it has decent performance. It has big screen with good display, the camera and battery life are also good.

5. HTC Desire 310:

The HTC Desire 310, which is launched recently is a good phone to have in pockets. The HTC Desire 310 features Android 4.2.2 . It comes with the Blinkfeed app which comes with the greatest HTC One M8. It is  the company’s first smartphone powered by a MediaTek chipset. The HTC Desire 310 sports quad-core MT6582M with 1.3 GHZ clock speed. The HTC Desire 310 supports dual-SIM with dual stand-by. It has a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels.  It comes with a smaller 512 MB RAM and with 4 GB of internal storage & it is expandable upto 32 GB via microSD. But, the lack of RAM is covered by the quad core processor, so the performance in managed. The HTC Desire 310 comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a VGA front-facing camera. Its back look very stylish and HTC fans may fall in love with it.

  • June 19, 2014 at 4:09 pm

In my personal opinion.. Samsung mobiles under 10,000 are not worth buying. You could get a way lot better mobiles with Quad Core Processors and HD display… which you cant get in samsung. Buying a samsung mobile under 10,000 over others like micromax etc.. is just paying for the brand name but not specs.

are micromax phones better to use?
help me with best phone in range 10000 with screen 5inch.

    • June 19, 2014 at 4:06 pm

Micromax Phones are very good to use and the performance is very much better than many other phones at that price.

    • June 20, 2014 at 3:37 pm

Hi, Grand Neo is a poor phone, its better to go with Grand Quattro than the Grand Neo. And under 10000 Micromax Canvas 2 A120 Colours will be the best and the Micromax phones are good.

i want a phone with best performance, good battery life, preferably with a decent front camera and good customer service.
how about nokia xl? do All the apps run swiftly on xl? does absence of google playstore really affects the user needs in any way? or should i go for micromax or any other phone?
also what are ur views about the lumia phones?

    budget is around 10000
which smartphone will u recommend for full value for money??

    • June 19, 2014 at 4:55 pm

Hi, with Nokia XL you don’t get the best performance so it is good to go with some other phone. And yes you can run all the Android apps with third party app stores. Micromax Canvas 2 A120 Colours will be a better buy.

    June 14, 2014 at 10:15 am

Hi Rahul, First of all Thumbs up to you for replying to each and every comment on this article.
My question:- I bought Micromax Canvas Ego for 12k around 8 months back. Its specification are good 1 GB RAM, Core Processor. The major disadvantage is heating issue. It heats to 48 degrees. you walk out and it gets heated. You use phone for normal Chess game for about 15 minutes still it gets heated. Service station are WORST. so Now I wanna buy a new Smart phone with best configuration possible but “with no LAG AND HEATING issue”.
Can you please suggest me some ? budget being 9k. (“with no LAG AND HEATING issue”.)
NO MICROMAX ANYMORE. This was my first Android Phone and MICROMAX screwed it.

    Dear Rahul,

I need a phone which must not have battery problems and Rooting issues. Nowadays in some mobiles which is having Android Kit kat OS, the user is not allowed to download the apps or videos directly to SD card.
So, I’m afraid to go with Moto E. Also battery is inbuilt in Moto E, I suppose. Kindly suggest me a mobile at RS. 7000-10000. Hi, Rahul i could see u have recommended Moto E to most of the people may i know what’s the USP of this phone.

Most of the phones you get in this range can have better specifications than the Moto E. But, the specs tell only half about the phone, many phones having the greatest specs are worth not buying due to poor performance. What is most important for us, the actual day to day users is the user experience, the convenience, service, life span and the performance of the phone. Most of the companies just focus on the specs but Motorola has truly understood the user needs. Apart from the regular configuration of the phone, Motorola has added some awesome protection to the phone which makes it last long and they are, the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, water resistant coating and anti-smudge coating. These are all very small things but they are a big deal for daily users, they give extra sense of protection and you can enjoy more, focusing less on protecting your gadget. Also, you can see that technology is changing everyday and same is the case with Android, its getting better with every updates. But there our hopes and dreams to get the latest updates shatter, companies never focus on the low cost phones for updates and we just can’t buy a new phone everytime. What is great about the Moto E is that, it already comes with the latest and best Android version the v4.4.2 Kitkat, again Motorola will be soon rolling out the 4.4.3 update for the Moto E and the best part is, Motorola has promised one more update for the next major version of Android. Again, the phone delivers good battery life and good performance and these are all one needs from a phone which costs just 7,000 Rs. 🙂

Hi Rahul, I am bit confused whether to go with MOTO E or not…as a smartphone, maybe a VGA front camera would’ve been better, the lack of which is the main constraint to buy MOTO E,I think. Please help me,as I want the reliability like MOTO E and also front camera. Which smartphone should I choose?

    I have sorted out a list :

    Please help me. Thank you.

Hi, the front camera is of rare use and at the price of 7,000 Rs. you must not be looking for the best camera but instead it’s very important to get the best user experience. You may get better specs with other phones but the reliability you are looking for, you will onky get with Moto E.

I understsand that the battery cannot be removed in the MOT E model. What happens if the battery gets spoilt in a year or two? can it be replaced at a local shop? My earlier phone had the same problem – thankfully could replace the battery. Please advice

    • June 6, 2014 at 11:39 am

Hi, if you really need a veey big screen phone then only go with this phone, as it is not too good. If you can go with the 5 inches screen you can get much better phone in this range with better performance and user experience.

its a good site. Could you tell me about panasonic P11 and P81?

    • June 4, 2014 at 11:45 am

Hi, both the phones have attractive specifications but they are not really good to go, instead its better to go with better alternatives – for P11 you can go for Gionee M2 and for for P81, Micromax Canvas Knight or Karbonn Titanium Octane Plus will be good choice.
