After launching the ZenFone AR, the Taiwanese tech giant Asus has launched another smartphone under the ZenFone series in India dubbed as ZenFone Zoom S. The smartphone went on sale in US back in May by the name ZenFone 3 Zoom and has now arrived in India. The ZenFone Zoom S is priced at Rs. 26,999 and is exclusively available via Flipkart in Navy Black and Glacier Silver color options.
The smartphone sports a 5-inch Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. It is powered by a 2 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm processor along with Adreno 506 GPU. The device comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 2 TB with microSD. The ZenFone Zoom S quite surprisingly, still runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Zen UI 3.0 on top.
The imaging department, which is termed as the highlight of the smartphone includes a dual rear camera setup with 12 MP sensors each. The primary 12 MP Sony IMX362 sensor with 1.4μm pixel size comes with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, Laser Auto-Focus, three-axis EIS and four-axis OIS. The secondary 12 MP secondary sensor comes with, f/2.0 aperture and 5 P Largan lens. The rear camera is accompanied with a dual-tone LED flash. Upfront there is a 13 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX214 sensor for selfies and video calls.
Another highlight of the smartphone is its massive 5,000 mAh battery which comes with support for reverse charging and BoostMaster fast charging. Connectivity options of the smartphone include, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, BDSS and USB Type-C. The smartphone measures 154.3 x 77 x 7.99 mm and weighs 170 grams.
