- Honor to launch new smartphone on December 5, 2017
- The phone to be launched is reportedly the Honor V10
- Honor V10 will have cameras enabled with AI capabilities
After Huawei’s Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, which offered AI capabilities and fantastic bezel less screens, it looks like the company is planning to bring some of the features of these flagships to the company’s sub-brand Honor. The company recently sent a global invite for the launch of a new smartphone on December 5th, 2017 showing an image of a phone with bezel less display. If the rumours are true, this could be the Honor V10.
Honor V10 has being doing rounds in the rumour mill for quite some time now. It is said to be a toned down version of its elder siblings, the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The Honor V10 is expected to have some features like the AI capabilities and dual camera with Leica lens from Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro.
According to GizChina, the leaked documents indicate Honor V10 to come with the same in house Huawei’s Kirin 970 chip, which powers the latest Mate flagships and thus hinting that the Honor V10 may come with AI capabilities. These AI features will be mostly used in image processing for the front and rear cameras.
According to reports, Honor V10 is expected to come with 6 GB RAM and either 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. The back panel may house a 16 MP and 20 MP dual camera system. The lens and camera is also reportedly being tuned by Leica. The phone will run on Huawei’s EMUI 6.0 Android skin, which may be based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The phone may be priced at CNY 3,000 (approximately Rs. 29,350), which undercuts pricing of both the Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro. The battery capacity is still unknown.
The final specifications of the Honor V10 will be confirmed only on December 5, when it will be launched officially, till then take it with a pinch of salt.
