After rounds of leaks and rumors since last few days, LG has finally announced its latest high-end flagship smartphone – “LG G4” yesterday in New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul (South Korea) which is the Home market. The LG G4 will start its global roll-out from today “April 29 2015” in Korea and will eventually be available on approximately 180 carriers worldwide.
Being a high-end flagship smartphone and a successor to the successful LG G3, the LG G4 was expected to be more advanced and distinguished. Fulfilling the expectations, LG came up with innovating Leather Back design in LG G4, which stands out from Samsung’s metal and glass design in its flagship Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. LG G4 will directly take on high-end flagship smartphones like iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.
The LG G4’s design features a ‘Slim Arc’, which runs along its entire body, highlighted by a display with a subtle curvature. LG claims that Slim Arc offers 20 percent better durability than a flat smartphone in face-down drops, while also offering a better grip and a secure feel in the hand. LG G4 is a beautifully designed curved smartphone with a bulk of high-end features.
The LG G4 is available in handcrafted, genuine full grain leather in six colors. The colors of the leather on the G4 are rich with warm tones that look authentic and beautiful. The G4 will have a choice of leather finishes in six beautiful colors Black, Brown, Red, Sky Blue, Beige and Yellow. Other material options for the G4 rear cover include Pure Ceramic White with 3D patterns, artisan-forged Metallic Grey and Shiny Gold.
LG G4 sports a 5.5-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display with a resolution of (2560 x 1440) pixels which turns out a great pixel density of 538 PPI, which is claimed to offer 20 percent greater color reproduction and better brightness. LG G4 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. So, the display is amazing with a slimmer and curved design. LG G4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor SoC clocked at 1.8 GHz 64-bit Hexa-Core CPU coupled with Adreno 418 GPU. The super fast processor is paired with 3 GB of RAM.
LG G4 is said to have world’s most advanced camera. This smartphone offers a rich 16 MP rear camera with Dual-LED (dual tone) flash and this is a world’s first smartphone to boast a wide F1.8 aperture lens that allows 80 percent more light to reach the sensor. LG improved low-light performance even further with OIS 2.0. LG G4 includes some great camera options like shutter speed option, slow sync flash, lens brightness options, fastest auto-focus feature etc. It also houses an 8 MP snapper on the front.
This LG flagship runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It has 32 GB of on-board storage which is further expandable up to 128 GB via Micro SD card. The LG G4 is backed by a 3000 mAh removable battery. With Quick Charge 2.0 you can charge 60% battery in just 30 minutes. LG G4 also features Wireless Charging.
LG G4 is also the first smartphone to come with the company’s new “human-centric” UX 4.0 that promises to be simpler and more intuitive to better understand and respond to the needs of each user. According to LG, the improved UX eliminates unnecessary steps while providing more configuration options for advanced users.
LG G4 will be available globally very soon. Pricing of LG G4 will be revealed locally in each market. We can hope LG G4 arrives soon in the Indian Smartphone market.
