Meizu MX5: The Stunningly Designed Feature Packed Smartphone!

This week must be a great week for Chinese smartphone lovers, as various companies launched their smartphones in recent few days. A great excitement was surrounding Meizu yesterday as it launched its flagship MX5.

The full metal body Meizu Mx5 manages to trim its thickness to only 7.6 mm and weighs just 149 gms. It supports dual 4G LTE sim functionality. The smartphone also features a mTouch 2.0 fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button. The MX5 comes in deep grey, silver, and champagne gold colors.

Meizu Mx5 has got some great specifications. It sports a 5.5 inch super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and full HD resolution of 1920×1080 with 401 ppi. Under the hood it has Mediatek’s Helio X10 MT6795T Octa-Core 64 bit chipset which offers Cortex-A53 cores set at 2.2GHz coupled with Power VR G5200 GPU and 3 GB LPDDR3 RAM. The company has gone on record saying that performance has been boosted by about 25 percent, when compared to its predecessor.

Another fantastic feature of this flagship is 20.7 MP camera with an aperture of f/2.2, dual-color LED flash and laser-aided focus which allows to focus in just 0.2 seconds. It can record a 4k video with ease and can also shoot 100-fps slow-motion videos at 720p. Despite the thinner body, it still managed to equip 6 elements lens covered Gorilla Glass 3 so you don’t have to worry about scratches. It also has 5MP selfie camera capable to record in 1080p and has great performance in low light.

The smartphone comes with a 3150 mAh battery backed by mCharge- Fast charging technology. One can charge phone from 0-25 percent in just 10 minutes and up to 60 percent in 40 minutes. Connectivity options include dual-band 802.11 ac/b/g/n Wi-Fi,4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1 and on the software front, it runs on FlymeOS 4.5 based on Android Lollipop. The phone has a fingerprint sensor, and mPay, Meizu’s own secure payment is expected to debut in China as well.

The phone doesn’t come with a microSD card slot. The Meizu MX5 comes in 3 storage capacities with the base 16GB model priced at 1,799 CNY (Rs 18,470 approximately). Meanwhile the 32GB and 64GB models are priced at 1,999 CNY (Rs 20,520 approximately) and 2,399 CNY (Rs 24,630 approximately) respectively. This might be one of the best offers around for the money, especially in China.
