Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo, known for its aggressive marketing strategies, has launched Oppo F5 Youth edition for the Indian market. This move came a month after Oppo F5 Youth was launched for the Chinese consumers. The Oppo F5 Youth, which is priced at Rs. 16,990 will start selling in India from December 8th, 2017 and will be available in colour options of Black and Gold.
Oppo, which specialises in manufacturing selfie centric phones, has launched the Oppo F5 Youth as a cheaper alternative to the Oppo F5. The F5 Youth has a 16 MP f/2.0 aperture front camera with A.I. beautifications, facial recognition, which is capable of scanning 200 facial recognition spots to make a selfie more aesthetically pleasing. The front camera also allows the user to unlock the phone by using face unlock feature. Apart form the special selfie camera in the front, the phone is also packed with a 13 MP f/2.0 camera, which comes with Auto Focus, Face Detection, HDR, Panorama Mode, Geo-tagging, Touch Focus and Digital Zoom.
Now moving on from the highlights of the Oppo F5 Youth, other specifications of the phone include a 6-inch FHD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) display with 442 PPI and 18:9 aspect ratio, protected with a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a 2.5 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P23 16nm processor paired with 770MHz ARM Mali G71 MP2 GPU and 3 GB RAM. It comes with 32 GB of onboard storage, which is further expandable up to 256 GB via microSD.
The dual sim phone currently operates on Android 7.1 (Nougat) with ColorOS 3.2 and has a fingerprint sensor at the back. It receives power form a 3,200 mAh built-in battery and for connectivity it gets Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, USB OTG, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Compass, Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensors. It has got a 3.5 mm audio jack and provides access to FM radio as well. The Oppo F5 Youth weighs 152 grams and has dimensions of 56.5 x 76 x 7.5mm.
