Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy J5 Pro smartphone which is apparently an upgraded version of the recently launched Galaxy J5 (2017). The smartphone has been launched in Thailand and the upgrade includes a bumped up RAM and internal storage, rest all the specifications remain same as the Galaxy J5 (2017). The Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro is priced at THB 9,990 which roughly translates to Rs. 19,000. As of now, there is no clue of its availability outside Thailand but we can expect it to arrive in other markets soon.
Coming towards the specifications, the Galaxy J5 Pro sports a 5.2-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display and has got a 1.6 GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core processor under the hood along with Mali T830 GPU. The smartphone comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card. In comparison, the Galaxy J5 (2017) comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The Galaxy J5 Pro runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.
In the imaging department, we are looking at a 13 MP camera on the front as well as back. The smartphone also has a LED flash coupled with both, front and rear cameras. The smartphone has an all metal built along with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button, and packs a 3,000 mAh battery for its powering. The connectivity options include, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, Micro USB port, and GPS.
Meanwhile, Samsung had last month launched its Galaxy J7 Pro and J7 Max smartphones in India. Both the smartphones feature Samsung Pay (Pay Mini in J7 Max) which is the premium highlight of the smartphones. The Galaxy J7 (2017) came in as Galaxy J7 Pro in India hence we can expect a similar arrival for the Galaxy J5 (2017) as well.
