As promised, Samsung has officially launched its flagship smartphone, dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Note 7 at its Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event in New York. The smartphone will be offered in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx color variants, and will be available starting on August 19.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 flaunts a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED curved dual edge display with pixel density at 518 ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, it has a 14nm octa-core Exynos 8890 processor with 64-bit architecture, clocked at 2.3 GHz, clubbed with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. It bears a 64GB (UFS 2.0) internal memory, which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The Galaxy Note 7 features a new S pen with 0.7mm smaller tip than its predecessor and improved pressure sensitivity. Its Smart Select lets you easily create and share GIF animations and new Air Command functions for magnifying and translate. It also has new Secure Folder feature, which stores files as well as apps in a secure location. The company has also added iris scanner along with the fingerprint sensor for additional security. The smartphone is dust and water-resistant with IP68 certification.
On the photography front, the Note 7 sports a ‘Dual Pixel’ 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, a f/1.7 aperture, and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation). It also boasts a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture. The smartphone gets its juice from a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support on wired as well as wireless.
Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G LTE Cat.12, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, and USB Type-C. The Galaxy Note 7 measures 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9mm and weighs 169 grams.

Although the company hasn’t revealed the price of the smartphone yet, it is expected to be priced around $880 (approx. Rs. 58,700). We will get to know the price of the smartphone for India on 11th August.
