Last year, Samsung launched its Android flip-phone, the W2016. Now, an upgraded successor, dubbed as ‘Samsung W2017’ has been launched in China. The Samsung W2017 is a flip phone with dual 4.2-inch displays, that means you can use it as a full touchscreen smartphone or open the flip to use the other screen with a keypad.
The Samsung W2017 sports a 4.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED dual displays. It is powered by a 2.15 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM.
On the camera front, it packs a 12MP rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, 1.4μm pixels and a 5MP front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture. It comes with 64GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.
The hybrid dual-sim smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is backed by a 2300 mAh battery with both wired and wireless fast charging support. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the rear. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS + GLONASS and NFC. It measures 127.8 x 61.4 x 15.8mm and weighs 208g.
The Samsung W2017 will be available in Gold and Black colors. However, there is no word from the company about its pricing and availability yet. Like its predecessor it is very likely that this smartphone will also be limited to Chinese markets only. Stay tuned for more updates!
