Sony launches all new range of Extra Bass Headphones & Wireless speakers in India, starting at Rs. 2,790

Sony has launched an entire series of its ‘Extra Bass’ headphones and wireless speakers in India. The Extra Bass headphones will be available for sale from Thursday, 20th April while the Extra Bass wireless speakers will be up for sales from 25th April through Sony centres and major retail stores across the country.

Under the ‘Extra Bass’ series, three new headphones, the Sony MDR-XB950B1, MDR-XB550AP and MDR-XB510AS are launched in India. Out of the three, the Sony MDR-XB950B1 is a pair of wire-less headphones with circum-aural design. The MDR-XB550AP and MDR-XB510AS, both are wired headphones with Supra-aural and in-ear design respectively. All the three headphones come with voice assist function support through their inbuilt mic.

The Sony MDR-XB950B1 which is priced at Rs. 12,990 works wireless based on Bluetooth v4.1 and also supports NFC connectivity. The headphones hold 40mm drivers and an inbuilt battery which is claimed to deliver up to 18 hours of playing time and takes 4 hours for complete charging. The headphones come bundled with 1.2m cable which can be used to connect the headphones when the battery runs out.

Coming towards the MDR-XB550AP, they are priced at Rs. 3,290 and are wired supra-aural headphones. The headphones come with 30 mm drivers and are provided with an in-line remote used to control volume and track sequence. The in-line remote can be customised using the free Smart Key app for Android. Now, the final and the cheapest variant of the series are the MDR-XB510AS priced at Rs. 2,790. These are also wired headphones with an in-ear design. The highlight of the headphone is that they come with IPX7/IPX5 rating which makes them water and dust resistible, making them apt for Sports use. The headphones come with 12 mm drivers and an in-line remote as well.

Apart from the headphones, there is also a line-up of exciting new wireless speakers. Sony brought in four new speakers i.e The SRS-XB 40, SRS-XB 30, SRS-XB 20 and SRS-XB 10 priced at Rs. 13,990, Rs. 9,990, Rs. 6,990, and Rs. 3,590 respectively. All the four speakers are based on Bluetooth v4.1 connectivity and can also be connected using NFC. Sony has included a feature under which up to 10 speakers can be connected in party chain and can play a single track. Also the speakers come with exciting lighting with them which light up with the music. The speakers come with IPX5 rating and can be used as power-banks for charging smartphones.
