Sony Xperia XZ Premium with Snapdragon 835 SoC, 5.5-inch 4K display & 19 MP camera launched at Rs. 59,990

Sony has launched its flagship Xperia XZ Premium smartphone today in India. The smartphone was first sighted in MWC 2017 along side Sony Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Ultra and Xperia XZs. The smartphone comes with some high-end specs amongst where the highlight is the presence of Snapdragon 835 SoC in it which makes Xperia XZ Premium the first flagship smartphone in India to do so. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 59,990 and will be available from 12th June via Sony Center, select retail outlets and Amazon.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium will be up for pre-orders from 2nd June i.e tomorrow itself and comes bundled with exciting launch offers. Sony is offering a free wireless Bluetooth speaker SRS-XB20 worth Rs. 8,990 to all those who pre-book the smartphone. Apart from this, Sony is also offering customers with a three-month Sony LIV subscription for free, and 5,200 game credits for Modern Combat 5 game on the phone.

Xperia XZ Premium sports a 5.5-inch 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) HDR TRILUMINOS display with X-Reality, sRGB 138% and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The device comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory which can be further expanded upto 256 GB via microSD card. Xperia XZ Premium runs on Android 7.1 Nougat.

This being a Sony smartphone holds some impressive imaging capabilities. The smartphone comes with a 19 MP Motion Eye camera same as the Xperia XZs, with 1/ 2.3″ Exmor RS memory stacked sensor, Predictive Capture, Anti-distortion shutter, Triple image sensing technology and 5-axis image stabilisation for shake-free videos. The rear camera is also capable of capturing 4K videos and 960 fps super slow motion videos. On the front there is a 13-megapixel 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS sensor coupled with a 22 mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium packs a 3,230 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 which is able to charge the battery from 0-60 percent in just 45 minutes. The smartphone also comes with an IP65/68 rating which makes it water and dust resistant. The smartphone has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button along with other on-board sensors such as, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The connectivity options include Dual-Sim support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (3.1), and a 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone measures 156 x 77 x 7.9 mm and weighs 191 grams.
