Micromax’s Yu has already sent out invites for the launch of unknown devices on September 8 in New Delhi, India. But now, with two new YU devices surfacing online, who knows it could be either the launch of YU5050 or YU4711 or both the smartphones tomorrow.
The YU5050 has a Snapdragon 810 octa-core SoC, 4 GB RAM and 5.2 inch display most probably with 1080p. It will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Cyanogen OS 12.1 out of the box. The smartphone may be priced around Rs. 21,000.
The YU4711 comes with 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. It also runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Cyanogen OS. This could be the cheaper variant of Yuphoria.
If the YU5050 really comes out true in the market, priced around 20k, it will be the much speculated arrival of Micromax in the mid-budget segment where the companies like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Asus and Motorola are already strong. So, with this phone, YU has to be 100% confident and well prepared to deliver excellent user experience as its rival companies are already delivering high specced devices and have got a good user base.
Importantly, the YU5050 will be a significant device for the company as Micromax has launched its YU Televentures to get out of its first impression of “manufacturer of cheap devices”. So, the YU5050 apart from making money, has to re-assure the company that it can play at that price, its success will also open doors for even high-priced phones for Micromax/YU. So, let’s see what we get tomorrow.
Also at the event tomorrow, the launch of Yubic Bluetooth speaker and a 10000 mAh power bank is also expected.
