Vivo on Tuesday, 4th April launched its V5 Plus Limited Edition smartphone to celebrate the 10th year of Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament. The Vivo V5 Plus Limited Edition bares almost similar specifications as that of the V5 Plus but will come in Matte Black color and an IPL logo engraved on the back. The smartphone will be available from 10th April via Flipkart and the price will also be revealed at the same time.
Similar to the Vivo V5 Plus, the Limited Edition smartphone also comes with a 5.5 inch Full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. It has a 2 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor under the hood along with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage that cannot be expanded further. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Funtouch OS 3.0.
The highlight of the smartphone is its front facing dual-camera setup which includes a 20 MP Sony IMX376 1/2.78-inch sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 5p lens coupled with a 8 MP camera for capturing the depth. The front camera is also equipped with ‘Moonlight Glow’ flash for better selfies in low light and smart camera features like bokeh mode and beauty effects. On the rear, there is a 16 MP camera with LED flash and 4K video support.
Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The Vivo V5 Plus Limited Edition also bears a fingerprint scanner on the home button similar to the V5 Plus. The smartphone holds a 3055 mAh battery to power itself, it is also provided with Vivo’s dual-charging engine technology for fast charging. The phone measures 152.8 x 74.00 x 7.26 mm and weighs 158.6 gms.

Vivo is the chief sponsorer in the tournament this year and launch of this smartphone will promote their brand even more with the immensely popular IPL. It has been a decade since IPL started and there’s a wild craze for it in the country. Vivo has also been carrying out a lot of promotional campaigns associated with the tournament.
