BSNL on Thursday, 15th June launched its new ‘Chaukka -444’ plan that offers 4 GB 3G data per day for a period of 90 days at Rs. 444. The Chaukka -444 plan is basically an extension of the Rs. 333 plan launched earlier, which offered 3 GB 3G data per day. By far the 4 GB data limit is the highest offered by any telecom company in the country which gives BSNL bit of an extra edge here.
The special tariff voucher (STV) is only available for prepaid users. The subscribers will be provided with unlimited 3G data with 90 days of validity at an daily FUP limit of 4 GB as mentioned earlier. The company while announcing the offer stated, “Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced BSNL Chaukka -444, a new STV for truly unlimited data for 90 days as special promotional offer under prepaid mobile services”.
“We are committed to provide affordable and efficient services to all segment of our mobile customers. We offer best prices to our customers considering present trend of Indian telecom industry,”
– R K Mittal, Director for consumer mobility, BSNL.
As mentioned earlier, this is the highest per day data limit being offered by any telecom operator in the country, if a PTI report is to be considered. This essentially is another effort of BSNL to compete against Relaince Jio’s on-going reign on the telecom market. Jio may not be free anymore but it is still the cheapest service around, considering which other companies haven’t been able to take a sigh of relief yet.
The ‘Chaukka -444’ plan from BSNL is not only a competition for Jio but also stands a chance against budget plans from companies like Airtel, Idea and Vodafone. The plan is economical and budget friendly especially for those who own a 3G handset and desire to enjoy same benefits as that of other networks without switching to a 4G handset or 4G network.
