Vivo Y66 with 16 MP front camera, 3GB RAM launched in India at Rs. 14,990

Vivo has launched its new Y66 smartphone in India increasing the bar for selfie-focused smartphones. The phone is designed considering selfie-obsessed users that desire a high resolution front camera. The Vivo Y66 packs a 16 MP front camera and is priced at Rs. 14,999 and will be available in Crown Gold and Matte Black color options.

The key specifications of the smartphone includes a 5.5-inch (720 x 1280) IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass. It holds a 64-bit Octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and coupled with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, which can further be extended up to 256 GB via micro-SD card. The smartphone runs on Funtouch OS 3.0 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Justifying the word Selfie-focused, the Vivo Y66 is equipped with a massive 16 MP front camera provided with a Moonlight Glow display flash feature for selfies in low light. The rear camera is 13 MP which comes along with LED flash and is capable of shooting videos at 1080 pixels.

For connectivity the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, dual-sim support, WiFi, Bluetooth V4.0, USB 2.0 with OTG, GPS and FM radio. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor. The Vivo Y66 holds a 300mAh battery for its powering. The phone measures 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.6 mm and weights 155 gms.

The Funtouch OS that seems like a cross of Android and iOS comes with some good features like split screen and ‘Eye Protection Mode’. The mid-range smartphone from Vivo could attract the selfie lovers who are looking for good front camera at an affordable price.
